Clara Foster Slough Museum featured at Hockaday exhibit

The Clara Foster Slough Museum in Enloe, was featured in an exhibit at the North Texas Regional Championship FIRST LEGO League tournament, held at Hockaday school in Dallas. The exhibit was presented by Lane Duncan and the Patriot Engineering Team, and included photos and information on implements from the museum.

The team's exhibit, was on display as part of the Jr.FLL 2011-12 program, which promoted research in food preparation. The subject of Patriot Engineering Team exhibit, was corn and the production of corn mill. Photos and information on the corn planters, shellers and corn mill implemements on display at the museum, were featured in the exhibit. Lane constructed a working model of a corn sheller and grist mill, and provided demonstrations throughout the event.





FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a national organization founded in 1989, to further motivate students interested in science and technology. The group provides for projects and competitions for students interested in engineering. Sponsors include ExxonMobile, Raytheon, RockwellCollins, and TimeWarner Cable.


The FIRST LEGO League event, was sponsored by Lockheed Martin and coordinated through the Dallas Museum of Nature & Science. The tournament was held at the Hockaday school sports facility. The school was established by Ela Hockaday, who was originally from the Enloe community area.
